هذا هو رابع كتاب
من الإنجيل الشريف، أوحى به الروح القُدّوس وكتبه الرسول يوحنا بن زبدي، الذي كان رفيقًا مُقَرَّبًا لمولانا عيسى. تعرض الكتب الثلاثة الأولى من الإنجيل الشريف حياة عيسى المسيح وتعاليمه العامّة، التي نادى فيها بالبشارة التي مُفادها أنَّ الله يقدّم لجميع البشر مغفرة الخطايا، وعطيّة الروح القدوس، وحياة الخلود في مملكته المجيدة (الجنّة). فمن يتوبوا عن عيشتهم الخاطئة ويُودِعوا عيسى المسيح إيمانهم ويعتبروه مولاهم ومُنقِذهم، يحصلوا على هذه البركات. يفترض هذا الكتاب الرابع أنَّ قُرّاءه على دراية بحياة مولانا عيسى وتعاليمه العامّة، ويعرض ما فعله عيسى وعلّمه على انفراد مع تلاميذه. فهو قد شرح لهم مَن هو فعلاً، وأوضح لهم أنَّ الذين يقبلونه بكلّ قلوبهم مولىً ومُنقِذًا لهم، يمرّون بولادة روحيّة من روح الله القُدّوس، تجعلهم يصلحون لمملكة الله الأبدية.
This is the fourth book of the Holy Gospel, as written by the apostle John son of Zebedee, who was a close companion of the Messiah. The first three books of the Holy Gospel present the life and public teachings of Jesus the Messiah, in which he proclaims the Good News that God offers people forgiveness of sins, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and eternal life in his heavenly kingdom to everyone who repents of sin and accepts God's Messiah as their Master and Savior. This fourth book assumes its readers are familiar with the life and public teaching of Jesus, and it presents what Jesus did and taught more privately with his disciples. To them Jesus explained who he is, and he explained that people who truly accept him as their Master and Savior undergo a spiritual birth from the Holy Spirit that makes them suitable for Paradise in God's eternal Kingdom.
