هذا هو خامس كتاب من الإنجيل الشريف، كما كتبه لوقا البشير بوحي الروح القُدُّوس. وهو يعرض صعود عيسى المسيح إلى السماء وخدمته المستمرّة على الأرض من خلال رسله، الذين يستمرّ في إرشادهم وحمايتهم. وقد نادى رسله بالبشرى السارة للجميع: «تُوبُوا وَلْيَتَغَطَّسْ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْكُمْ بِاسْمِ عِيسَى الْمَسِيحِ، لِكَيْ تُغْفَرَ ذُنُوبُكُمْ، وَتَنَالُوا عَطِيَّةَ الرُّوحِ الْقُدُّوسِ.» (أعمال الرسل 2:38) «وَيَشْهَدُ لَهُ كُلُّ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ أَنَّ كُلَّ مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ يَنَالُ غُفْرَانَ الذُّنُوبِ بِوَاسِطَةِ اسْمِهِ.» (أعمال الرسل 10:43) فشجّعوا مَن آمنوا على البقاء راسخين في الإيمان في مواجهة الاضطهاد من غير المؤمنين.
This is the fifth book of the Holy Gospel, as written by Luke the Evangelist under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It presents the ascension of Jesus the Messiah to heaven and his ongoing ministry on earth through his apostles, whom he continues to guide and protect. His apostles proclaimed the Good News to everyone: “Repent, and let each of you be immersed in the name of Jesus the Messiah, so that your sins will be forgiven and you can receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” “All the prophets testify about him, that everyone who believes in him will receive forgiveness of sins through his name.” (Acts 2:38; 10:43) And they encouraged those who believed to remain firm in the faith when they face persecution from non-believers.
