Sadducees:

members of a sect within Judaism that followed the Torah of Moses but did not believe in angels, the coming of the Messiah, the resurrection, the day of judgment, the afterlife, or the prophets and their books. Most of the chief priests belonged to this sect, as did most of the elders in the Jewish High Council.
